Long Beach Cruise to Ensenada

Saturday, Jan 19, 2018

Kelley and I flew from BOI to PDX to LAX. After a 45min Uber to Long Beach, we found our Airbnb and explored ideas for dinner.

There wasn’t any food within walking distance, so we Uber’d downtown to a Mexican restaurant called “Next Door“. The food was delicious (fish tacos/cauliflower tacos), and the live music was really good. Checked out the hot tub back at the house. Wait for it… it was very hot!

The next morning, headed back down to Long Beach. Walked around the marina. Lunch at YardHouse. Lots of nice boats and a great place to watch the tourists. 🙂

Visited the Aquarium of the Pacific, found a Starbucks for the afternoon “fix” and was amazed how expensive furniture is in at Restoration Hardware (footstool on clearance was $1200!).

Later that evening, walked to Michael’s Downtown, an Italian restaurant. We sat at the counter and enjoyed watching them cook. The service was great and the food was really good.

Monday, Jan 21

We couldn’t board the ship until 3pm, so relaxed at the house as long as possible, then Uber’d down to the terminal area to eat lunch and look around (we used Uber a lot on this trip).

Long Beach
Queen Mary

The Queen Mary is docked next to the cruise terminal, so we decided to check it out. It was neat to look around… apparently there have been many ghost sightings onboard. One gentleman checking out told us he experienced some weirdness, and sure seemed convinced it was real.
